Community Involvement

Wincrest Homes has been involved in numerous community activities including building homes with Habitat for Humanity. The Homes for Hope programme is another example and we include this case study below.

Wincrest Homes is a long term Partner of Homes for Hope. Our partnership began in 1998 when Wincrest Homes built two homes in the Greensmart Village Project at Kellyville which raised over $1,000,000.  It continued in the Hunter region where two more homes were constructed at Ashtonfield, East Maitland and they in turn raised approximately $250,000.

With the success of our first project in the Hunter area, Wincrest Homes once again committed to supporting Homes for Hope in Newcastle, this time building three homes in Maryland. These designs were constructed using donated building materials, labour and furnishings raising over $100,000 for Newcastle City Mission’s Youth Street Smart Programs.

Other contributions to the Homes for Hope program include construction two state of the art contemporary designs in the new suburb of Pemulwuy (Greystanes) in the Nelsons Ridge Estate.  Over $200,000 was raised and is helping  support Youth Services in Sydney; assisting children and youth at risk.  Wesley Dalmar Child and Family Care is one such group that requires our support.  They provide a wide range of services designed to prevent family breakdown as well as caring for children and young people in need of care and protection.

Our role in the Homes for Hope projects is to provide substantial support by way of resourcing the construction work, project management and assisting with obtaining materials.

It is an honour to work with community groups such as the Homes for Hope programme.
